CommCare® Corporation has owned and operated skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers throughout Louisiana since 1994.

What is important to you is very important to us. That is why we believe in providing care that includes not just health, but dignity, respect, and compassion. Care that meets the individual needs of residents in the most comfortable, home-like environment.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, we consider residents and the communities we serve to be our shareholders. We invest in their needs and the needs of our staff and facilities to ensure that we continually meet our goal of quality care and comfort.

Board Members

Jim Tucker, President, CEO, Director

James W. “Jim” Tucker has been a managing partner in various real estate companies since 1996. From 2001 to 2012, he served as a representative in the Louisiana Legislature and was elected Speaker of the House from 2008 to 2012. As a member of the legislature, Mr. Tucker served on the Insurance, Retirement, Labor, Transportation & Public Works committees.

In addition to his service as a director on CommCare’s board, Mr. Tucker has served as Treasurer and former Chairman of the Algiers Development District, as a Trustee of Baptist Community Ministries, as a member of First Baptist Church of New Orleans and as a Board Member of UNO Foundation.

Mr. Tucker earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The University of New Orleans. Mr. Tucker’s experience in real estate, finance and public service brings a wealth of expertise and experience that benefits residents of CommCare’s centers.

 

John A. Stassi II, General Counsel, Chairman of the Board

John Stassi was instrumental in the founding of CommCare® Corporation in 1993 and has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 1995.

A native of New Orleans, John earned his law degree from Tulane Law School in 1962 and focused his practice on health care law. He currently serves on the board of directors of The Blood Center of New Orleans and The Magnolia Foundation.

 

Dr. Patricia Prechter, BSN, MSN, EdD currently serves as Dean of the University of Holy Cross’s College of Nursing and Allied Health, having served as Associate Dean for Professional Studies, Associate Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs, Interim Provost and Provost.

Dr. Prechter comes to Commcare’s Board of Directors, not only with clinical knowledge and experience, but with a history of service to her community and to her country, In addition to the many community organizations to whom she has lent her time and talent, Dr. Prechter served for more than 29 years as Deputy Commander of Louisiana’s National Guard’s Medical Command and State Chief Nurse, and she also served our state during Hurricane Katrina as chief nurse at The Superdome.

“I am pleased to lend my expertise in nursing to assist CommCare in continuing the quality health care services they are delivering today,” said Dr. Prechter. “CommCare believes that care should always include not only care of the physical needs but also respect, dignity and compassion for the individual – values that I firmly believe in. Dr. Patricia Prechter, BSN, MSN, Ed D named to CommCare Corporation’s Board of Directors

Dr. Patricia Prechter, BSN, MSN, EdD has been named to the Board of Directors of CommCare Corporation. CommCare Corporation is a Louisiana-based, non-profit organization that operates 12 skilled nursing facilities, a hospice and institutional pharmacy in the state of Louisiana.

Prechter currently serves as Dean of the University of Holy Cross’s College of Nursing and Allied Health, having served as Associate Dean for Professional Studies, Associate Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs, Interim Provost and Provost.

Henry L. Masson, Secretary, Treasurer, CFO, Director

Henry Masson of Alexandria is one the founding members of CommCare® Corporation and remains committed to its success and the success of the communities CommCare® serves.

He is an active member of Baptist Temple Church, holding numerous positions on church committees, and devotes much of his time to mission trips around the country. Henry has established an educational scholarship fund at the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.

 

G. Anthony Mangun, Director

Pastor Mangun brings to the CommCare® Corporation Board of Directors, his passion and commitment to his community, the driving force behind his success.

A pastor for 32 years, Anthony currently serves as Senior Pastor of The Pentecostals of Alexandria. He is the Chaplain for both the Alexandria City Police Department, Louisiana State Police Troop, and Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Department.
