John A. Stassi, II Community Care Center: Jefferson Parish’s Premier Location
Opening Summer 2026!
Metairie’s newest skilled nursing and rehabilitation Center, John A. Stassi, II Community Care Center, is located on 26 acres on Airline Drive. The building itself is designed to support the philosophy of person-centered care. The four distinct households feature private rooms with private baths. The resident rooms surround a common area with high ceilings and natural light. Residents and their guests can enjoy a sitting area with a large screen television, a dining area that also hosts life enrichment activities, and its own kitchen where residents can enjoy snacks and drinks when the craving hits.
The person center care philosophy extends to operations. The focus is on the residents. So much like the Disney philosophy, offices are not front and center, the space is there to support the residents. Rather than disruptive overhead paging, staff wear pagers. Dining options include a featured meal, an alternate and a Bistro Menu. Residents enjoy natural awakenings.
John A. Stassi, II Community Care Center amenities include a cafe with coffee, beverages and soft serve ice cream The Multi-Purpose Room hosts larger activities and family gatherings. Courtyards and patios are the perfect place for outdoor barbeques, gardening, or quiet time.
For those recovering from illness or injuries, our therapy gym and staff of physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists specialize in working with residents to gain the strength, techniques and endurance to return home successfully.
Why The Name?
John A. Stassi, II was a life-long resident of Old Metairie. He founded CommCare Corporation, a multi-facility, non-profit, senior care provider and served as its CEO and chairman until his retirement in 2021. His passion and vision for providing care for seniors in a different way, manifested itself in CommCare’s mission: to be an innovative leader in the development and delivery of quality health care services, and to be committed to a learning environment that attracts and develops dedicated care givers. In building John A. Stassi, II Community Center, Mrs. Stassi’s passion for senior care and his dedication to Metairie is an appropriate legacy.
