Audubon Retirement Village Receives Prestigious AHCA Silver Commitment to Quality Award
Silver National Quality Award
(New Orleans, LA) – Audubon Retirement Village has been awarded a 2026 Silver Commitment to Quality Award for their dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care – one of only ten Louisiana skilled nursing facilities to do so. The award is the second of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award Program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The program honors centers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors.
Continuous Quality Improvement
“I couldn’t be prouder of the dedication and hard work our team members have put into achieving this honor,” said Jim Tucker, CEO of CommCare Management Corporation. “Eight of the 10 Silver Quality Awards in Louisiana were earned by CommCare skilled nursing facilities.”
“The hard work begins years before these awards are named. It starts with laying the groundwork by achieving the Bronze Quality Award. The quest for Silver begins immediately afterwards, and takes another year.”
“But what is truly meaningful, is their motivation – to relentlessly pursue our mission: ‘to be an innovative leader in the development and delivery of quality health care services, and to be committed to a learning environment that attracts and develops dedicated caregivers’ – ultimately to provide the best care and environment for the residents for whom we are entrusted to care.”
Baldrige Performance Excellence Program
The National Quality Award Program implemented by AHCA-NCAL in 1996, is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals. The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Centers begin the quality improvement process at the Bronze level, where they develop an organizational profile with essential performance elements such as vision and mission statements and an assessment of customers’ expectations. Bronze applicants must also demonstrate their ability to implement a performance improvement system. Examiners review each application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria. As a recipient of the Silver Quality Award, Audubon Retirement Village continues to learn and develop effective approaches that help improve performance and health care outcomes.
